Miscellaneous
I went to the school counselor when I was in college because I was having a hard time focusing on my work. They had me take a test to determine my thinking style, and the results weren’t all that surprise. I am an abstract random thinker…
I’m abstract in that I enjoy thinking about philosophy instead of cars. I like the big picture instead of the smaller details. I enjoy analyzing large systems and then casting a vision for how we can use them to carry us to our destination.
Being a random thinker is kind of like having intellectual ADHD. I have a hard time focusing on one subject or topic because I see each topic as interconnected. Ideas in my mind don’t build in order or hierarchy, they build nodes, clusters, and networks of similarity and difference. (I find great comfort in Foucault’s Archeology of Knowledge…)
On the plus side, the internet gives me enhanced resources for sharing my thoughts. I’m trying to keep my thoughts in order for your sake, but this portal acts as a folder for the thoughts I’m having difficulty filing.
